Between deposit (보증금), monthly rent (월세), and contracts, it’s easy to make mistakes.

Here are a few tips that can save you a lot of trouble:

✅ 1. Always check the contract carefully

Make sure:

• Your name is correctly written

• Deposit amount is accurate

• Move-in / move-out dates are clear

💰 2. Understand the deposit system

In Korea:

• Deposits can be very high (₩5M–₩50M+)

• Lower deposit → higher monthly rent

🏢 3. Use trusted real estate agents (부동산)

• Look for agents used to working with foreigners

• Avoid paying anything before signing a contract

📍 4. Best areas for foreigners

• Itaewon (very international)

• Hongdae (students & young crowd)

• Gangnam (modern, but expensive)
